On Sunday, January 16th, 2022, we are planning a book release party and signing for Will O’ the Wisp: Madness, War, and Recompense, the new Civil War historical fiction novel by Charleston author and MUSC physician, Roger Newman, M.D. The party will be held at the beautiful Halls Signature Events venue in historic downtown Charleston at #5 Faber Street. Christ Church shipbuilder, Jack Holmes, eludes the Union blockade in the phantom blockade runner, Will O’ the Wisp, in an effort to sustain the Southern war effort and save the city he loves. Captain Jack and his brother-in-law, Charleston shipping magnet and Confederate Secretary of the Treasury, George Alfred Trenholm, conspire to steal the Confederate gold once the fate of the Confederacy becomes obvious.
